6 ­ 16 Outlook 2010: Basic Topic C: Working with events This topic covers the following Microsoft Office Specialist exam objectives for Office 2010. # 5.1 Objective Create and manipulate appointments and events 5.1.1 Set appointment options Explanation In Outlook, an event is an activity that lasts for a period of one or more days and that can be added to the Calendar. There are three types of events in Outlook: single-day, multi-day, and recurring. For example, workshops, conferences, and seminars can be single- or multi-day events. Birthdays and anniversaries are examples of events that recur annually. Quarterly tax filing deadlines are an example of events that recur on something other than an annual basis. By default, Outlook assumes that events last for at least one day. However, you can change this setting and specify the duration of an event. Single- and multi-day events You can add single-day and multi-day events to the Calendar. Here's how: 1 On the Home tab, in the New group, click New Items and choose All Day Event
