What You'll Need to Know

Now that you've seen what you need to run iPhoto '11 and the extras that help make iPhoto that much more fun and productive, let's talk about the skills you need to possess to use iPhoto.

Don't worry! I'm not talking about photography skills (although I'm sure many of you are excellent photographers). When I say “skills,” I'm talking about your computer skills—or more specifically your Mac skills.

Throughout this book I'll assume you have the bare-minimum Mac skills. That is, I'll assume you know how to do the following:

• Turn your Mac on and off
• Open and close Mac applications
• Use a mouse or trackpad
• Use a keyboard
• Use a digital camera
• Know how to plug your digital camera into your Mac's USB port

See? That's all I'll require of you! Easy, huh? You don't need to know a single thing about iPhoto. That's why you have this book!
