Sometimes it's just cool to display your favorite photo as your desktop picture. Apple has made it easy to do this right from within iPhoto. To set an iPhoto picture as your desktop picture, follow these steps:

Set Desktop. The selected photo appears as your desktop picture.You can also use multiple photos as your desktop picture. If you select multiple photos and then choose Share from iPhoto's menu bar, the first photo selected is set as the desktop picture, and after a period of time, the desktop picture automatically changes to the next photo in the sequence. You can adjust the length of time it takes for this to happen in your Mac's System Preferences. Choose Set Desktop
System Preferences from the menu bar, and then click Desktop & Screen Saver. Choose the Screen Saver tab, and select the length of time to change the desktop picture from the Change Picture drop-down menu.
