This book has a lot of information.  The information is presented in a very non-threatening fashion, with lots of examples.  The progression of material is quite gradual. The author takes great pains to avoid covering topics beyond the scope of a beginner - at least in the early chapters.

That is both a positive and a negative for this book.  In other words, if you're a beginner with iOS, then this book is FANTASTIC.  If you're familiar with iOS, you probably know most of the book's content.  Even so, there is still some very good material in this book; at least skim through it.

I recommend this book very highly.
