By now you may find yourself asking, well if process is so wonderful, why do so many people hold process in such disdain? There are three major factors, as follows:

• The inability of many organizations to recognize the need for process
• Lack of process and process management expertise in most enterprises
• Predominantly function-centric organizational constructs
