Chapter 16: Process Roles > Process Administrator

Process Administrator

Help for the process owner comes in the form of the process coordinator or the process administrator. Successfully managing a process requires numerous tactical and operational activities and tasks. It would be silly to ask or expect a senior leader in the organization to deal with the day-to-day machinations of process management. Additionally, many process owners manage more than one process. It is not only impractical, it is impossible for a process owner to tend to all that is necessary to keep processes running at peak performance.

In addition to the process team members who actually participate in process execution, processes must be adequately staffed to fulfill the following administration responsibilities:

  • Supporting day-to-day process execution
    • Process documentation management
    • Procedures management/maintenance
    • Process systems support
    • Process knowledge resource
