In this chapter, we’ve explored further development of location-based web applications for Android. Our example has covered using popular local search web services from Google to demonstrate finding trains, subways, ferries, and other transit options for the fleet-footed tourist. We’ve only scratched the surface of what can be done with transit data feeds systems like GTFS, but you now know enough to explore the many online options available to you. We hope that our sample application has shown how easy it is to merge phone-based location features with cloud-based services to create useful mashups and very easy-to-develop features.
