Discovery Workshops

Running the discovery workshops with a broad spectrum of teams and roles is essential to the success of the project. Yes, you will learn a lot in the first few workshops, but the more important result is that you will have seeded your message throughout the organization that people are being listened to, their ideas are being taken seriously, and there is a competent team running this project that will give them a new solution to improve on what they had. You can see some of the workshop deck in Figure 12-5.

Having an assistant to act as a scribe to help record the meeting is not absolutely required, but it makes it easier to facilitate if you can concentrate on the people without having to note the words.
