A resource management chapter wouldn’t be complete without a troubleshooting section. We could write complete books containing all the specific troubleshooting examples we’ve seen over the years, but specific examples aren’t as helpful as they sound. Troubleshooting isn’t about applying a specific technique or solution to a problem. To really troubleshoot and resolve a problem you have know what questions to ask. This section is going to equip you with those questions so that you can find the answers.

The Basics

A sound troubleshooting methodology is just as important as a solid planning methodology when your project begins. You can read books cover to cover without understanding where to begin when things break. Knowing how something works certainly helps, but knowing what to look for and asking the right questions will help even more.
