4. Be Prepared—and Prepare Your Clients, Too!

Always be prepared! Take care of everything you possibly can before the shoot so that the shoot itself can go as smoothly as possible. Photography is already somewhat unpredictable, and shoots can have bumps along the way. Making sure that you and your client are on the same page and arriving to the shoot completely prepared will ensure that things go as smoothly as possible. If you do your homework, the client’s experience will be better because you can concentrate on them and their shoot without being preoccupied. Remember, in the time you spend with your client, you want to be completely focused on them and create a positive environment; lack of preparation has the potential to add unnecessary stress to your experience with the client.
