Lenses

There is no “right” lens for fashion photography. Photographers use different lenses to achieve various visual effects. In fact, certain photographers develop their creative style by using the “wrong lighting,” “wrong lenses,” or other “wrong” creative techniques just to stand out.

If you are purchasing lenses, buy the fastest you can afford. If you hear the term fast glass, it means you can achieve wide apertures and therefore fast shutter speeds. For example, a lens that shoots at f/2.8 (can achieve an aperture of 2.8) or wider is considered a fast lens.
