Chapter 12. Special Shooting > Stable Shooting

Stable Shooting

No matter what your shooting conditions are, from simple street or event shooting to more complex shooting in harsh environments, keeping your camera stable is an essential part of shooting sharp images and having maximum creative control.

Many people believe that if you’re shooting with a fast shutter speed, you don’t have to worry about camera stability, but camera shake can impact your images at even very fast shutter speeds. What’s more, camera stability becomes more important if you’re shooting with a camera that has a very high pixel count. A camera with 10 or 12 megapixels is capable of revealing the softness that can be caused by very fine camera shake and vibration.
