This appendix is simply a review of the most commonly used shell commands. You saw many of these in the text already, but this appendix should provide a central resource for you to consult. In this appendix, we merely describe the commands. If you want all the details, consult the man page for that command. As an administrator, you should be familiar with these commands. This is not an exhaustive list of all commands, but rather a list of those that are most commonly used.
apt: This only works in specific Linux distributions (Debian for one), but has many useful permutations such as apt-get install, which can be used to install programs.
