INSTALLING AUDACITY

Before we begin discussing the specifics of Audacity, we need to install it. You can download the most up-to-date version of Audacity from http://audacity.sourceforge.com. Once you download the file, you can begin the first step of the installation process by running the executable file. You will be presented with a screen that looks similar to Figure 6.1. To continue the installation, click the OK button.

The welcome screen shown in Figure 6.2 will appear. From this screen, click Next.

The next screen, which appears in Figure 6.3, is the license agreement for the software. The software is released as open source, but it’s a good idea to review the terms. Then click the Next button.

From the screen that is shown in Figure 6.4, choose the default installation location. Leave as is unless you have a particular need to change it and then click the Next button to continue.
