About the Author

Brian Tarquin is a multi Emmy Award-winning guitarist/composer and has established himself as a top-rate TV composer/recording artist and owner of Jungle Room Studios. In 2002, 2003, and 2005, he won Emmys for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition for a Drama Series, and he has been nominated for an Emmy seven times. Tarquin graced the Top 20 Billboard Charts back in 1997 with the commercial release This Is Acid Jazz, Vol. 2 on Instinct Records, followed by three solo jazz albums, which generated several Top 10 radio hits on the R&R and Gavin Charts in Contemporary Jazz in the late ’90s.

From 1996 to 2001, Brian recorded four solo albums—Ghost Dance, Last Kiss Goodbye, Soft Touch, and High Life—and has appeared in more than 12 Instinct compilations, selling more than 140,000 records in his career. In 2008, Tarquin produced and wrote Fretworx, which showcased new recordings by guitar greats Steve Morse, Billy Sheehan, Frank Gambale, Andy Timmons, Will Ray, and many others. The album features exclusively released tracks inspired by those who lost their lives on 9/11—a portion of the profits were donated to the Friends of Firefighters 9/11 foundation. It also contains rare tracks from Steve Vai, Santana, and Tommy Bolin, plus personal liner notes written by Hal Lindes of Dire Straits.
