Chapter 1 Guitar Recording Then and Now > Guy Charbonneau on Mobile Recording

Guy Charbonneau on Mobile Recording

During the past 35 years, Guy Charbonneau and his mobile recording studio Le Mobile have recorded and mixed productions for a wide range of talent within the music industry. His reputation for clean, pristine sound quality ensures a loyal following of clients. Guy recorded No Doubt’s Rock Steady tour in Long Beach, California; The Pretenders: Loose in L.A. (DVD); and Kenny Chesney’s Back Where I Come from Party. He also recorded and mixed tracks from the 2007 and 2010 Crossroads Music Festival, which featured more than 20 of the world’s greatest guitar players. In addition, he recorded and mixed the live recordings of Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers Live and her forthcoming Sweet Escape Live DVD.

He has also recorded such acts as Peter Gabriel, Rolling Stones, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Billy Joel, Genesis, Rush, Hall & Oates, Elton John, Santana, Squeeze, Foreigner, Lena Horne, Little River Band, Miles Davis, Bad Company, Prince, Grateful Dead—and the list goes on. Now those are some credits! But what really drew me to him was his audio recording of It Might Get Loud (a documentary on electric guitar) at the WB soundstage with none other than the godfather of guitar himself and my all-time favorite, Jimmy Page!
