If you’re ready to immerse yourself even more deeply in wireless flash photography, the next sections will provide a little more detail on using some of the settings for ratios, channels, and groups.
Your built-in flash and your wireless flash units each has its individual oomph—how much illumination they put out. This option lets you choose the relationship between these units, a power ratio between your built-in flash and your wireless flash units—the relative strength of each. That ability can be especially useful if you want to use the built-in flash for just a little fill light (it’s not very powerful, anyway), while letting your off-camera units do the heavy work. This setting is the top choice in the Wireless Function menu, designated with icons that show an external flash and a raised camera flash.
