A setting in DAZ Studio is the stage upon which you create your artwork. It can be as simple as a backdrop like in a photography studio or as complex as a full 3D environment like a city block replete with alleys, warehouses, and city lights. Regardless of how detailed the setting, it will be limited because 3D environments are limited by the speed and power of your computer. It you put too much into a setting, you will start to notice a performance hit. However, just because you are limited by technology doesn’t mean you can’t make your pictures seem like they go on forever. The trick is not to let the viewer see the edge of the scene.
To have success when working with settings you have to be aware of where the set ends and plan your pictures of animation so you stay within those edges. Figure 8.7 shows a set pulled back so you can see the edges.
