After the drivers have been installed on your PC, when you connect your Galaxy S II to it, the AutoPlay screen may appear, as it sometimes does when you connect a USB device to your PC. However, don’t be concerned if it doesn’t appear, because it doesn’t show up on every PC; that depends on your operating system and computer setup, and maybe even the phase of the moon.
After you’ve connected it to your PC, launch Windows Explorer. Your Galaxy S II now shows up as a removable disk, just like any USB drive. What it looks like when it shows up will vary according to how you’ve connected via USB. So if you are “MTP-connected,” as outlined previously in this chapter, you’ll see an icon of a phone. If you’re instead connected via the USB storage mode, you’ll only see it as an extra drive, like any other drive or USB device. When you transfer files manually, it really doesn’t matter what the icon looks like, though.
