While this project is quite easy electronically, there is more mechanical construction than the other projects in this book. So when selecting a case, gearmotors, and wheels, make sure that everything will be able to fit easily in the box, and that the wheels fit the gearmotors and will be large enough to lift the whole box off the floor.
The box the author used was 145 x 80 x 30mm, which is quite a tight fit. Something slightly larger would be easier.
Figure 5-8 shows how the gearmotor’s battery box and switch are laid out within the box.
Solder flying leads to both of the motors, the switch and the battery box. These must be long enough to easily reach the IOIO board that will be positioned in the center of the case. Use Figure 5-8 as a guide. The positive lead from the battery box is soldered to one side of the switch.
