When you turn on the Keytar (Figure 8-91), nothing happens until the mute button is pressed once. If nothing is pressed after that, the Keytar plays one note and one rest for each of its five slots, and then loops back to the beginning. If the duration knob is turned, it changes the duration of the rests in between the notes. If a “fret” button is pressed, the note corresponding to that slot plays, along with a rest, over and over. If the duration knob is turned while the fret button is pressed, it changes the duration of all the notes. If the tone knob is turned, regardless of a fret button being pressed, it changes the frequency of the current slot.
