WHEN THE REMINDERS APP for the iPad arrived in Fall 2011 with iOS 5, a cheer of joy went up from compulsive listmakers everywhere because Apple had finally checked this task off its own to-do list of requested iPad features. Reminders is wonderfully easy to use, and you can write down your chores in a straightforward list or assign them to a future date. Here’s how to do either:
By list. Tap open the
Reminders icon on the iPad’s home screen. Tap the List button, tap
the button in the upper-right corner, and then
type in what you need to accomplish, like “Buy Pampers.”
By date. Tap the Date
button at the top of the screen. A multi-month calendar appears on
the left side of the iPad screen. You can flick through the months
with your left thumb to get to the needed date. Tap to select it. On
the right side of the screen, the date of the reminder note changes
to that day. Tap the button in the upper-right corner to enter
info about the task.
