I don't understand the bad reviews given by the Safari subscribers especially when the ratings of this book on Amazon is 4.5 stars.
Anyways, this is a great book that contains many useful, practical programming techniques and tips that are not available in other "Learning" android books.

As the title says, there's little information in this book. Most chapters are just a couple of sentences called problem, a couple of sentences called solution. These two sections are followed by a section called discussion that sometimes is a bit longer, but still mostly useless.
I decided to check the book out despite the previous reviews since I couldn't believe it could be so bad, but I was wrong. It is as bad as the previews reviewers have said.

This book is really not worth your money. Some sections are useless (eg exception handling) others are incomplete (eg Backup Manager) and some sections are really literaly copied from the Android developer docs (eg the sentence ' The primary scenario in which backup data is restored is when a user resets their device or upgrades to a new device and their previously installed applications are re-installed.').
My suggestion, instead of reading this book, read the Android developer docs.
