Small Light Tent Shiny surfaces, reflective objects, and continuous illumination with soft shadows are only a few of the requirements in product photography a case for the light tent. Just as with the imaging table, the base material is a white Plexiglas sheet. Added are two fiberglass rods with fitting end caps from the kite building store and a translucent plastic sheet. Drill a hole into each corner of the Plexiglas plate to attach the fiberglass rods. After you cut the plastic sheet (backlit film or Mylar) to size, cut a round hole in the center, through which you can take pictures from above. The size of the hole should match the lens you will be using. Fasten the rods to the plastic sheet with tape and bend it so that a curved "roof " is formed. At each end, stick the rods into the holes of the Plexiglas sheet and attach the end caps. For illumination, you can use one or more off-camera flash units.
