E-Skills and ICT Certification in Greek Cultural and Travel Agencies Computer Society with the contribution of CEPIS (Council of European Professional Informatics Societies http://www.cepis.org). The main features of the ECDL programme can be summarized as follows: · Internationality: after the initial experi- mentation in the European Union, 137 countries worldwide have adopted the pro- gramme; the certification exam ­ based on the so-called QTB (Question and Test Base) ­ is available in 32 languages; Integration between academia and indus- try: the programme is supported by the na- tional professional societies that integrate professional and academic competences; Technological neutrality: the programme defines ICT skills independently of hard- ware and software vendors. In particu- lar, it is possible to obtain the certificate · in detail every concept and ability that the can- didate should understand and develop to get the examination. ECDL is designed to cover all the potential operations performed using Microsoft Office tools, even the rare ones, e.g. change the default uses of Microsoft Word. The first module aims at providing candidates with all the con- cepts needed to understand most of the common Information Society terms.
