The following sections focus on customiza- tion and personalization and discuss personalized e-health tools from a data/content perspective. THE STATE OF THE ART the users' profile (as discusses in Chapter 2) to its knowledge base, in order to provide considerably personalized information. Again, the users have control over their personal information. DiasNet (Jensen et al., 2007) (http://www. hst.aau.dk/~spp/) is a chronic disease (diabetes) management system, and in this regard offers a more specialized health service. It allows diabetic patients to enter their own data in order to get services and recommendations that meet their individual needs, and requires only a pre-defined set of information that is processed to achieve a limited level of service personalization. From the above it can be noticed that e-health service providers adapt the level of personaliza- tion to suit the type of health services they are offering. The next section reviews some of the systems offering e-health service personalization in more detail.
