Drawing Tool Kit All I need for drawing is rolled up into this colorful little bundle. I've refined my selection of tools over time to identify just the supplies I need--no more and no less. I always plan with portability in mind and these tools are my drawing essen- tials. I know that my purple pouch has all my drawing supplies--collected, organ- ized and ready for action. It's an invitation to dive into my artistic journal! Blending Stump I used to use my finger for smudging pencil lines in my drawings, but now rely on a much better tool: the pointed blending stump. Such a modest object; such a nice effect. Mechanical Pencil I use a mechanical pencil so I don't have to fuss with sharpen- ing the point. I like softer leads, B or 2B for instance, so I can smudge the graphite for shading. Gel Pens and Metallic Markers I carry gel pens for light and color- ful accents over drawings and paintings. I love to write with metallic gel pens in my sketch- book, especially over dark papers.
