SSHonWindows·Chapter8 191 These console capabilities are provided as shortcuts in the Programs menu. Other than this functionality, COPSSH is a standard Cygwin OpenSSH package, so you sacrifice nothing by using it. In fact, the COPSSH package is a self-contained package; you don't need to have previously installed Cygwin to use it. If all you want is SSH, this is a good alternative. UsingNativeWindowsSSHServers After seeing some of the limitations you must work around for SUA or Cygwin-based OpenSSH, you may consider a native Windows SSH server to be a slam-dunk decision. Looking through the field, there would appear to be quite a selection. However, you will notice that almost all of the offerings are commercial; you have to pay money, sometimes quite a bit of money, in order to get them, and not all of these offerings are as fully featured as OpenSSH. SSH Tectia SSH Tectia (http://www.ssh.com/) is considered by many to be the gold standard of commercial SSH implementations. Their server package is sold separately from their client implementation but shares many of the same features, including an impressive amount of Windows integration. This native Windows server application is shown in Figure 8.8.
