In order for these features to be taken advantage of the XBOX 360, a user must pay for their subscription, which can be accomplished through a prepaid card or by entering a credit card number. This number or code does not appear to be resident on the digital storage media that is required for a user to be networked over the console. Once the user is connected with the Live service with a Gold account, they can connect to their friends through a stripped version of the number one social networking site, Facebook. To connect to Facebook, the user must accept a download that populates the drive with many artifacts. As the end user navi- gates through the Facebook portal over the console, several artifacts get populated to the digital storage media. The format of these files appears to be a standard format and provides a potential list of the Facebook friends that may have been connected while the console was in use.
