They liked me. It’s just that I haven’t had anything else that was quite like that, something that people sat down and got. Maybe I’ve had some potential hits, but they’ve been so far apart. Everybody knows that particular song, but not so many know me. There’s a club audience, but the song has an anonymity factor—it may have something to do with why the record still plays so well.
