22. Site Security and Backups

AFTER A JOOMLA! 1.6 WEBSITE HAS BEEN CREATED, deployed, and made available for public viewing, site security and backups should be the next phase of consideration. Unless the proper steps are taken to secure the site, it can remain vulnerable to hacking attacks by those who have nothing better to do with their lives.

Also, and this goes along with security, the Website should have some sort of backup program so that, in the event of a malicious hacking attack or server corruptions, the site’s files and databases can be restored and the site can go back online.
