Safari Books Online is a digital library providing on-demand subscription access to thousands of learning resources.
I also recommend the third-party product Growl to supplement BBEdit’s built-in notifications of many kinds of results.
BBEdit is commercial software that can be purchased directly from Bare Bones (http://barebones.com/store/) or through the Mac App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bbedit/id404009241) for $49.99.
If you purchase or download a trial of BBEdit directly from Bare Bones, you will find a disk image file named “BBEdit version.dmg” in your Downloads folder. Double-click the file, and a virtual volume mounts. In the window that appears, drag the BBEdit icon onto the Applications folder alias and drop it there. When that’s done copying, open the Applications folder and launch BBEdit.
Note: If you just want to try what I talk about in this book before purchasing, you can download a 30-day fully functional demo version via http://www.barebones.com/tcobb. You can later purchase a registration code without downloading the software again.
