When to use forums

Forums are great for managing evergreen content, or content with a long shelf life in one centralized part of your site. Site or blog posts tend to have a higher publishing frequency, often diluting the significance of older content within a matter of weeks, if not days. Most sites feature the most recent posts in the sidebar or they display them paginated on the homepage. If you publish about four to eight posts per week, there's a good chance that your visitors will not pay much attention to those posts and comments, as they'll get pushed back further with each passing day without the use of a plugin or marking selective forum posts as sticky.
