14.5. Summary

In this chapter, we’ve covered a mixed bag of topics—Spring features that, by themselves, didn’t have a home in any other chapter.

We started by looking at how to externalize bean property values using property placeholder configurers and overriders. We also learned how to not only externalize properties, but to encrypt them so that prying eyes won’t gain access to the sensitive configuration details of our application.
