8.4. Summary

As we said at the beginning of this chapter, there’s quite a bit of ground to cover with Core Animation. Even though we’ve just scratched the surface you should have a good understanding of the Core Animation basics. You learned about how Core Animation can help you create eye-catching animations in your MacRuby applications, similar to the ones Apple uses.

We went over Core Animation’s rendering architecture and also ventured into a bit of Cocoa Animation. Next you discovered Core Animation’s CALayer class and experimented with creating and modifying your own layers. Last but not least, you created animations of your own using basic and keyframe animations.
