2.6. Deploying and testing your portlet

When you generated this project with the Plugins SDK, it came with its own Ant script, which makes it easy to build and deploy the project. If your IDE supports Ant, you can deploy the project from within your IDE. If you’re not using an IDE, you can run a simple command to deploy your project. Follow these steps:

Start your Liferay server. Again, if you’re using an IDE and have followed the instructions from appendix A, you can do this from within your IDE. When Liferay has started, keep a window open to Liferay’s console so you can watch the deployment take place.
