6.6. Implementing social activities in your portlets

You wrote a portlet for Inkwell in chapters 3 and 4 that allows customers to register products that they purchase on the web site. This portlet is a perfect candidate for social networking, because the act of registering a product can be made easily into a social networking activity. In a nutshell, here’s what you need to do:

• Modify the service layer so it adds an activity when it adds a registration.

• Create an object called a SocialActivityInterpreter in the portlet project to help the Activities portlet display your custom activity.
