Installation of the Oracle 11g database does much more than simply install the actual Oracle DBMS software. It also includes a host of additional products which complete an enterprise-scale database development and deployment environment. Note the following additional products and components which are installed along with the database:

Enterprise Manager support services – This is to support the administrator interface to the database, known as Oracle Enterprise Manager (EM).

Oracle Application Express (APEX) – This is a web-based database development tool which is automatically installed with the database. Once configured, it is accessed by database developers from their workstations using a browser.
