Chapter 17. Broadcast-Style Animation

Anyone will tell you that the bread-and-butter animation jobs are flying logos. Although you might wince at the mere mention of the term, flying-logo animations do pay the bills in many animation studios around the globe. The task, however, can easily be misconstrued as “simple” or non-professional work; but you can rest assured that there are many companies and independent animators making a very good living creating these types of animations. Not every job is meant for broadcast television; there is a significant market for logos in corporate and industrial video environments. This chapter focuses on broadcast-style animations for television and corporate video.
