1.8. Compositing tools in Blender

Blender is a "Swiss-army knife" application that provides an integrated suite of functions that all work together. For example, in this one application, you can work dynamically with a colleague on the other side of the world to create a mask that hides a portion of the images in a video sequence, apply the mask and overlay to a fully rendered computer graphics object, animate the mask to match the movement in the video, smoke up and change the lighting of the composite, color-correct, splice that shot into a longer-running sequence, and output the whole video in to both a high-definition H.264 MOV file and a web-presented 640×480 AVI file.
