Chapter 3. Hardware Setup

In the past, in order for Digital Performer to work properly, you needed to set up a program called FreeMIDI to route your MIDI to and from outside devices. One of the advantages of Digital Performer running on Mac OS X is that it has a built-in program called Audio MIDI Setup that can be used to set up all of your devices, both MIDI and audio. In this chapter, you will learn how to:

• Automatically scan for MIDI devices

• Manually install MIDI devices

• Select audio drivers

• Select audio devices
