Viewing and Playing Your Imported Music

All of the files you import from your computer are stored in Spotify’s Local Files library. To view the files you’ve imported, select Local Files in the Collection section of Spotify’s navigation pane. All imported files are flagged by an icon of a musical note, as shown in Figure 7.2.

To play a local file, you have to be logged onto Spotify from the computer that hosts that file. There are two ways to begin playback. You can double-click the file, or you can right-click the file and select Play from the pop-up menu. (In addition, after you’ve started playing one track, you can play another track by selecting the file and then clicking the Play button in the transport controls.)
