Chapter 28. Listening to Streaming Music on a Portable Music Player or Smartphone

For some reason, consumers haven’t bought into large-capacity portable music players with enough space to hold really big digital music collections. Yes, Apple still sells the 16GB iPod classic, but doesn’t sell very many of them. (In fact, many tech pundits have been predicting the imminent demise of Apple’s biggest iPod—although that hasn’t happened yet.)

The reality is, whatever portable music player or smartphone you’re using, it probably doesn’t have enough storage space to hold your entire digital music library. If you want to listen to more tunes than your device can hold, you have to get the music another way—streamed to your device, over the Internet.
