Chapter 35. Discovering New Music via Social Media

Our lives are becoming more social, at least in a superficial sense, thanks to the Internet. The various social media—Facebook, Twitter, and so forth—make it extremely easy to share just about anything with just about anybody else online.

There are good and bad aspects about these social media sites, but one of the most beneficial things is how we can use social media to discover new music. It’s really a matter of our friends—or people with similar tastes—sharing what they’re listening to. There’s a good chance that if one of your good friends likes a new band, you’ll like that band, too.
