10.2. Advanced Automation

In Chapter 2 you learned some of the basic information you need in order to create automation with Reason's instruments and effects. Specific automation techniques for various Reason devices have also been touched on throughout this book, including the automation functionality used to create pattern sequences with the Redrum Drum Computer (Chapter 3) and the Matrix Pattern Sequencer (Chapter 8).

As you've already seen, the process of recording automation by adjusting knobs, sliders, and other parameters while Reason is recording is very easy to understand and implement. Just make sure a track's Record Enable Parameter Automation button is active, click the Record button on the Transport panel, and make adjustments to automation capable parameters.
