You can switch between the score and the part by clicking on a stave and hitting the W key. Hit W again, and you’ll return to the full score.
Once you’re in a Parts window, you can switch from part to part using the key command Ctrl/Command + Alt + Tab.
Parts have their own House Style that is different from the score’s own House Style.
You manage the look of the parts by clicking on the Multiple Part Appearance button after you select Window > Parts.
You can make a custom part that contains any staves you like—just click the New Part button in the Parts window.
You can make the layout exactly the same on all your parts using the Copy Part Layout feature in the Parts window.
Extracting parts isn’t dead; if you’re sharing with a user who has Sibelius 3 or earlier or Sibelius Student, you’ll need to extract parts to share parts with them.
Dynamic Parts are an innovation that was introduced in Sibelius 4 and that changed the way musicians work with parts. Parts, whether hand copied or computer generated, are a pain to work with! Scores begin with all instrument parts in one main score, and at the end of the creation process, the parts must be “extracted” into individual parts and checked for their individual legibility.
