Windows Messenger and Instant Messaging

When you’re working with Cubase, do you really need to be IMing your buddy on the other side of the world? Windows Messenger has a lot of great features, but it’s a resource hog. If you want your Cubase studio to be at peak performance, you need to disable Windows Messenger, even if you aren’t connected to the Internet. To do this, find Windows Messenger in the program list or task tray, open it, and select Tools > Options > Preferences. In the Preferences window, uncheck any box that says “Run this program when Windows starts” or “Allow this program to run in background.” Click OK, and then close Windows Messenger.
