Starting a New SATB Choral Score

The first thing to consider when you begin a new choral score is the system format (see Figure 10.1). If you are composing a hymn or homophonic piece, you might consider a closed score, which is basically a widely spaced grand staff. To begin a closed score, open the SATB (2-Staff) with Piano template in the Finale/Templates folder. (If you do not need the piano staves, just delete them.)
