19. Showing a College Some Love

All colleges and universities like to be loved, but some want to be courted more than others.

To increase your chances of getting into a college, and possibly receiving more money, you should determine whether a school wants to be shown a little love.

Before you can do that, however, you need to understand a term called demonstrated interest. This is higher-ed jargon that refers to a teenager’s active interest in a school. A teenager who has visited a campus, for example, has shown a demonstrated interest. Requesting marketing material via the college’s website is another way to demonstrate interest.
