Chapter 4. Security

Security is an important part of computing today. If you aren’t aware of the risks, you can easily be tricked by one of the many criminals out there intent on separating you from your money, or you might end up with a slow and unreliable computer. Attackers on the Internet are very active and use a wide assortment of strategies and techniques to launch attacks. Their victims include home users and organizations of any size. They prey on unsuspecting users, but with just a little bit of knowledge, you can often prevent them from preying on you.
